In 2017 the founders of Hacker Hostel, Winston and Akua had a vision, to increase our access to software developers so they could help solve the problems they had with scaling as technology startups. They thought if they had money they would invite so much developers from around the world to Jamaica, that it wouldn't be a hacker house – it would be a Hacker Hostel.
In the year that followed we have received 10 mentors from New York and San Francisco in our programme and trained 46 students in lean startup and exponential technologies across three countries in the Caribbean.
Objective for 2018/19:
Find resources and mentors to host Hacker Hostels in 10 markets in the Caribbean and produce foreign exchange from 40 students in technology jobs
